High School Equivalency (2017)

A young man wearing a graduation cap stands among balloons that read "Congrats Graduate!" and behind the caption "FinishYourDiploma.org Find free adult education classes to finish high school."

BACKGROUND:

Opportunities are often limited for adults without a high school diploma. To support themselves and their families, many work multiple jobs with lower pay and less stability. In fact, those without a high school degree represent nearly 3 in 10 adults with household incomes below the federal poverty line.

New PSAs celebrate the hard work of adults who have recently finished their diploma – and inspire the 34 million American adults who have yet to complete high school. Through a series of surprise parties for recent graduates and their families, PSAs encourage adults and their loved ones to use the help that’s waiting through free adult education classes around the country. Since 2010, the campaign has helped connect more than 1 million men and women in all 50 states with free adult education classes so they can earn their GED or other high school equivalency degree.

Motivate adults without a high school diploma to pursue their GED or other high school equivalency, and connect them with information to get started.
